Solutions for Fire
ARC Cavity Stop Socks & TCBs
![]()
ARC Cavity Stop Socks have been developed as thermal and acoustic fire stops that are designed to restrict the spread of smoke and flames within external masonry and timber frame walls, and further to minimise the effect of flanking noise pollution at wall junctions.
ARC Cavity Stop Socks are lengths of low resin, non-combustible, Rockfibre mineral wool, sleeved in 50 micron polythene for on-site weather protection.
- Up to four hours fire integrity for masonry construction- Warrington Fire Research test
- Up to one hour fire integrity for timber frame construction - Warrington Fire Research test
- Polythene encapsulated cavity stop sock
- Easily installed both horizontally and vertically with compression fit
- Prevents the spread of smoke and flames within external masonry and timber frame walls
- Minimises flanking noise at wall junctions
- Available in standard widths of 65, 75, 100, 125 and 150mm, with special cavity widths available on request
- TCB (flanged stopsock) also available for timber frame applications

ARC Fire and Acoustic Party Wall DPC
![]()
The ARC Fire and Acoustic DPC enables the closing of an external cavity at the junction with a party wall and between floors, providing resistance to the spread of flame along the cavity. Where a separating party wall meets the external cavity wall, building regulations require the use of a mineral wool closer for acoustic insulation purposes. This product meets the requirement by significantly reducing the sound transmission along the cavity. The Rockfibre insulation is protected by a damp proof course on the external face, therefore satisfying a requirement of the National House Building Council (NHBC).
In order to seal off internal and external corners, an L-shaped acoustic DPC is available, and is recommended by the Robust Details (Jan 05). Dimensions available on request.
- Four hours fire integrity - Warrington Fire Research test
- Meets NHBC acoustic standards
- Part E compliant
- Robust Detail requirement
- Minimises transmission of flanking noise along the cavity of external walls and between floors
- Easily installed as brickwork is constructed
- Vertical and horizontal applications
- Available in standard cavity widths of 50, 65, 75, 90, and 100mm, with special widths available on request

ARC Rockfibre Lamella Thermal and Acoustic Plasterboards
![]()
Designed to offer both thermal and acoustic insulation for internal walls, helping to improve upon statutory requirements. ARC Rockfibre Lamella Plasterboards are suitable for both refurbishment and new build projects in the domestic and commerical markets where increased thermal and acoustic performance is required. Rigid rockfibre slabs are cut into strips and turned through 90 degrees so that the fibres lie at right angles to the plasterboard. This gives increased resistance to compression of a slab of the same density.
ARC's Lamella Plasterboards are manufactured using rockfibre mineral wool which conforms to BS EN 13162: 2001 Thermal Insulation products for buildings, factory made mineral wool products specificiation, and achieves a fire classification of Euroclass A1 as defined in BS EN 13501-1.
Also available with a standard rigid rockfibre mineral wool slab insulation.
Various sizes and thicknesses available on request.
ARC Lamella Plasterboard Laminate:
Plasterboard length 2400 x 1200mm wide x 12.5mm thick.
Plasterboard conductivity 0.25W/mk
ARC Thermal and Acoustic Lamella Floor Boards
![]()
Designed to provide both thermal and acoustic insulation for both ground and intermediate floors, in either new build or refurbishment work. ARC Thermal and Acoustic Lamella Floor Boards consist of high density Rockfibre mineral wool lamella strips bonded on to tongue and grooved moisture-resistant chipboard.
- Excellent thermal and acoustic insulation
- CFC and HCFC free
- Suitable for all constructions
- Will accomodate pipe runs and minor imperfections in sub floor
- Easy to lay
- Suitable for new build and refurbishment work
The ARC Lamella Floor Board works on the 'floating floor' principle to isolate and absorb impact and airbourne sound. Rigid Rockfibre slabs are cut into strips and turned through 90 degrees so that the fibres lie at right angles to the chipboard. This gives increased resistance to compression of a slab of the same density, whilst remaining resilient to take up imperfections in the sub floor.
Available with either 18 or 22mm chipboard bonded to insulation with a thickness ranging from 15 to 100mm.
ARC Lamella Boards:
Chipboard length 2400mm x 600mm wide x 18mm thick
Chipboard conductivity 0.14 W/mk
Insulation: Lamella Rockwool Conductivity 0.044 W/mk, lamella rockfibre insulation supplied to the required thickness standard thickness 25 - 100mm)
