Description:

The ARC Fire Stop Strip is a fully tested IFC certificated fire stop purposely designed for narrow voids in masonry or concrete construction, it is suited to both low and high rise projects. The ARC Fire Stop Strip has been rigorously tested to meet or exceed the performance requirements laid out in UK and Irish Building Regulations, helping to ensure safer buildings. The Fire Stop Strip can be installed both vertically and horizontally.

Application:

ARC Fire Stop Strip is designed to prevent the passage of flames through narrow voids in the construction, offering up to four hours fire integrity when installed between masonry or concrete. Possible applications include: top of masonry walls under the soffit, above partitions, expansion joints, and between ceilings and walls. The person installing the Fire Stop Strip should first familiarise themselves with the datasheet, ensuring the correct product is being fitted into the cavity.

All performance claims made are evidenced in the IFC certification IFCC 1732.

Installation instructions

ARC Fire Stop Strip is easily installed, simply push fitting into the void to create a friction fit. No adhesive or mastic is required, but care must be taken to ensure no gaps remain as these will compromise the fire integrity. Care should be taken when handling the product to ensure that the mineral wool isn’t damaged.

What’s the maximum size you can manufacture the ARC fire stop strip for?

ARC Fire Stop Strip can be manufactured up to 50mm thickness and in widths from 100mm upwards.

Can the ARC Fire Stop Strip be used as a joint seal?

ARC Fire Stop Strip can be used to provide fire stopping for gaps in masonry/concrete constructions up to 50mm, provided there is a minimum 100mm depth.
