Dr Alex Boote is ARC Building Solutions’ Technical Director, leading the development of solutions that support safer, healthier and more sustainable buildings. Alex plays a central role in shaping the company’s product pipeline, bringing together research, technical expertise and market insight to develop practical solutions that respond to the challenges facing the built environment.

Alex joined ARC in 2021 through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership with Leeds Beckett University, bringing a strong academic background and a passion for research-led product development. Since then, he has helped strengthen ARC’s approach to innovation and new product development, supporting the company’s continued growth.

His work combines technical knowledge with a clear understanding of the challenges facing customers, installers and the wider construction sector. Alex is focused on ensuring ARC continues to act as a problem-solver, developing products that respond to real market needs while supporting improved safety, performance and sustainability.

One of Alex’s most notable innovations is ARC’s award-winning Retrofit Eaves Insulator, developed to help address damp, mould and heat loss in existing homes while supporting improved ventilation and resident wellbeing. His wider focus on retrofit and fire inhibiting solutions reflects ARC’s commitment to developing products that help create safer homes for generations to come.

For me, product development is about understanding the market, the issues facing our customers and where ARC can make the biggest difference.
