We are thrilled to announce that our very own Dr. Alex Boote has been shortlisted in the prestigious Rising Star category at the Construction News Awards 2025! This recognition is a testament to his outstanding contributions to ARC and the wider industry. The drive Alex shows for innovation is central to our pioneering approach to innovation and his commitment to making homes more safer and more habitable underpins our mission to offer complete protection for the built environment.
Dr. Boote’s pioneering approach has already led to three patents, underscoring his expertise and dedication to research and development and a genuine desire to shape the face of the construction industry for the better. As the leader of ARC’s products and innovation team, Alex and the wider team play a crucial role in helping to provide safer, more sustainable housing for all.
One of his most significant achievements to date is the development of the Retrofit Eaves Insulator in conjunction with Leeds Beckett University. A first-of-its-kind solution designed to combat damp and mould in homes. This product offers a simple solution to the complex problem of correctly insulating and ventilating the traditionally tricky to get right eaves junction.
With fantastic initial results and feedback from installers, the Retrofit Eaves Insulator is set to be a game changer within the retrofit industry and sets up the foundation for Alex and ARC to develop further solutions to the complex issue of damp and mould in homes.
Dr.Boote’s expertise and leadership in product development continue to support ARC’s development of solutions that not only meet but exceed industry standards.
Beyond his product innovations, Dr. Boote has been instrumental in ARC passing our first ever CCPI assessment for the Cavity Stop Sock. Underpinning Alex’s commitment to fire safety and building performance. CCPI are an industry recognised assessment body that helps to provide greater confidence and transparency in relation to product information.
Alex led the project where he helped demonstrate that all the performance claims of the Cavity Stop Sock are backed by recognised test evidence, helping to provide the industry with greater confidence in the product should the worst happen. This achievement underscores both Alex and ARC’s steadfast dedication to transparency and reliability.
Being shortlisted for the Rising Star award is a well-deserved recognition of Alex’s contributions to the construction industry. As part of the next stage in the competition, he will be making his way down to London in May for the live judging panel. This offers Alex a fantastic opportunity to showcase his expertise and the great work he’s doing at ARC.
