ARC Planning for Growth Amidst Challenging Industry Conditions

The construction industry has experienced strong growth in recent years but with tougher times forecast ahead, Aaron Sharp, Head of Sales and Specification at ARC shares how the business is planning for growth amidst more challenging industry conditions.

“As a key supplier to the construction industry, the buoyant conditions the industry has experienced in recent years has undoubtedly underpinned some of the growth our business has achieved.

“However, market conditions are not the sole cause of our business development and as we prepare to enter stormier waters, it is the work and enterprise that has been going on behind the scenes at ARC, that will help us to achieve continued success.

“During the last few years in particular, resource has been channelled into the development of our brand, expansion of our sales team and of course there has been continued investment into both product innovation and research and development. From the launch of new products such as our Open State Cavity Barrier, to the introduction of our specialist range of solutions for difficult fire-stopping junctions, we have ensured that all of our products address the challenges our customers face during the build process.

“Through close collaboration we have also ensured that we provide the technical and practical support our customers need such as QR code links on products to installation guides that help with accurate fitting on site.  In each and every area of our business we have strived to go above and beyond market standards; we are proud to be the only UK manufacturer of low-rise cavity barriers to hold the internationally recognised IFC Certification and our Eaves Insulator has also been officially recognised by NHBC Accepts. All of these elements have helped us to shape our commercial offering and as a result our business has grown from strength to strength.

“Achieving this and growing our business through a pandemic has been no mean feat but our expert team has pulled together to ensure that we’ve met our goals and looking forward, we intend on continuing along this path.

“Whilst other divisions of the business do all they can to ensure our products service the demand in the industry, it is down to myself and my team to ensure that we continue to penetrate the market and reach a wider customer base – no matter what construction levels looks like.

“As a result, we are currently in the process of expanding our technical sales team, recruiting two new technical sales managers to support us in the delivery of our growth strategy. Alongside sales, the team also provides specialist expertise, giving our customers the technical advice needed to ensure that the properties they build are compliant with the new Building Safety Act and meet all required standards.”
