“As a manufacturer, innovation is crucial to what we do. We are always looking for ways to improve and make buildings safer. When I joined ARC, that was the brief. Despite joining on a project basis through a knowledge transfer partnership with Leeds Beckett University, I was immediately shown faith, helping to implement a new approach to research and development. Two years later, at the end of my project, I’d worked with almost every department in the business, transformed the new product development infrastructure and delivered the launch of two fantastic new products. Now, in a permanent position, I could not have asked for better preparation and experience.
“One thing that stands out about ARC is the people. Successful innovation requires collaboration and input from all aspects of the business. At ARC, that’s exactly what you get. We are proud of what we do. Our products are instrumental in building safety. We always keep sight of that. There is a willingness to contribute – to share knowledge and understanding as we all move towards our collective goal. Our products are life-saving, due in no small part to the expertise and teamwork of our people. That is pivotal to our success.
“ARC has also been fantastic for my own career development. From the moment I joined, I’ve been supported. Coming from academia, it was a steep learning curve, but one I embraced with the backing of the business. Now, I’m lucky to lead my own team. This has taught me a lot. Allowing me to pass on knowledge and develop new skills as we grow together. We’re in a really good place, and with strong ambitions for new product development and innovation in the future, it’s an exciting time to be at ARC.”
