Committed to driving ARC forward in how it communicates with its customers, Marketing Manager Jake Coughlan takes a hands-on marketing approach, establishing long-term objectives and strategies as ARC continues to diversify its robust product offering.
Jake expands on his career so far and what has led him to join ARC’s growing team: “I’m the type of person who gives things a go. If I say I’m going to do something, I’ll do it – and that’s my approach to marketing too.”
“My marketing career is a little different to most. I graduated from university with a degree in broadcast journalism, but it was the PR aspects of the course that really drew me in. Wanting to learn more, I took on a junior role in a marketing agency, but shortly after, the business lost a large contract so I was made redundant and left seeking a new challenge. As a stopgap I took on a role in pensions – quite the career shift”
“For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to serve my country, and being in an industry I wasn’t comfortable in, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to realise that ambition. I served four years in the British Army, joining the infantry. When I returned from service in 2019, I turned my attention back to marketing and, after a short stint as a TV reporter on That’s TV York, I joined a private school as a marketing executive with the intention of growing their profile overseas.”
“Following a short, but successful time in this position, I jumped at the opportunity to start a new role as an in-house marketing manager at an interior design manufacturing business in Leeds, an excellent opportunity to help me get my foot in the door for a fulfilling career. I followed up with two years at a very good creative agency. A very fast-paced environment presented a unique challenge which I thoroughly enjoyed. This was the baptism of fire I was looking for, giving me loads of hands-on marketing experience across a variety of industries. It was at this agency where I honed my skills before arriving at ARC for a new challenge in a growing and ambitious business.”
Excited by the opportunities ahead, Jake will play a pivotal role in ARC’s growth plans, supporting the launch of new products and developing several high-profile campaigns already in the pipeline.
