Description:

The ARC T-BarrierĀ® Foundation is a fully tested IFC certificated cavity barrier with a stalk to ensure correct positioning of the cavity barrier, for use at the foundation level of masonry construction. The ARC T-BarrierĀ® Foundation has been rigorously tested to meet or exceed the performance requirements laid out in UK and Irish Building Regulations, helping to ensure safer homes. The T-BarrierĀ® Foundation is supplied with an integral DPC as standard.

Application:

ARC T-BarrierĀ® Foundation is designed to be used at foundation level before the brickwork commences. It is supplied in a short 600mm length, encapsulated in high-strength polythene to provide maximum protection from the elements. The shorter length is ideal to ensure the product is protected during the time between install and commencement of brickwork. The person installing the T-Barrier FoundationĀ® should first familiarise themselves with the datasheet, ensuring the correct product is being fitted into the cavity.

All performance claims made are evidenced in the IFC certification IFCC 1728.

Installation instructions

The ARC T-BarrierĀ® Foundation is easily installed as the blockwork progresses at foundation level. No mechanical fixings are required, a friction fit within the external cavity and compression fit within the party wall cavity ensure the barrier stays in place. Take care to ensure that the cavity widths being created are accurate, so that the correct fit with the cavity barrier is achieved.

When installing, ensure that the T-BarrierĀ® Foundation is pushed firmly down against the base of the cavity with no gaps. Care should be taken when handling the product to ensure that the mineral wool isnā€™t damaged.

FAQ’s

Can this product be used with an SFS internal leaf?

ARC T-BarrierĀ® Foundation is fire rated and certified for use in a traditional masonry construction.

Do I take it out of the coloured sleeve?

The polythene sleeve is there to provide product identification and protection from the elements and should therefore be left in place. It does not add to the performance of the product so can be safely cut into, and the product can still be used should the polythene be damaged.

Can this cover multiple cavity sizes?

The ARC T-BarriersĀ® are designed to suit specific cavity widths and are available in 5mm increments. Itā€™s important that the appropriate size is fitted to achieve the required compression fit and to ensure the product performs as expected.
