Application:

ARC Fire Stop Slab provides up to four hours of fire integrity horizontally and vertically within external wall cavities. It is particularly well suited for use with medium and high-rise projects. The ARC Fire Stop Slab is manufactured from rockfibre mineral wool insulation with a class ‘O’ reinforced aluminium foil facing both sides. The person installing the Fire Stop Slab should first familiarise themselves with the datasheet, ensuring the correct product is being fitted into the cavity.

All performance claims made are evidenced in the IFC certification IFCC 1731.

The ARC Fire Stop Slab is a versatile product that is suitable for use in a variety of applications which have been developed through collaboration with customers and industry partners. ARC Fire Stop Slab should be fitted into the cavity with lengths of barrier tightly butt jointed, with care taken to ensure there are no gaps. No tape or mastic is required to achieve the fire performance detailed below. When cutting barriers on-site from a full slab, it is important to ensure the cut size is suitable for the as-built cavity in accordance with the table below and selected application, as no gaps can remain between the barrier and the internal or external leaf

FAQ’s

What should I use to fix the bracket to the substrate?

The fixing brackets should be mechanically fixed in to the edge of the concrete floor slab or into blockwork. A minimum 50mm masonry screw should be used.

Does the ARC Fire Stop Slab require compression?

A 5mm compression fit is recommended. When cutting on-site, it is important to ensure the cut size is suitable for the as-built cavity, as no gaps can remain between the barrier and the internal or external leaf.

Is the ARC Fire Stop Slab suitable SFS

Yes. ARC Fire Stop Slab has a range of supporting test evidence in accordance with BS EN 1366-4, and subsequently a FoA report has been written by independent fire engineers outlining the approved scope of use. This includes use against SFS and sheathing board.
