Application

ARC U-Barrier is compressed between the top of the spandrel panel and underside of the roof covering, creating a fire and thermal break.

NHBC 7.2.16 recommends a 25mm gap between the separating wall and the top of adjacent roof trusses, which should be filled with mineral wool. ARC U-Barrier satisfies this recommendation.

Is this product fire rated?

ARC U-Barrier is manufactured using rockfibre mineral wool which achieves a fire classification of Euroclass A1 as defined in BS EN 13501-1, and complies with building regulations for fire stopping at the pitched roof party wall detail, as well as NHBC 7.2.16.

Can U-Barrier be mechanically fixed?

Yes, the polythene flanges can be used to mechanically fix, typically a staple, to the spandrel panel.
